Barrier film is a coextruded flexible film used for vacuum and map packaging of food (meat, salami, sausages, pre-cooked bread, pizza and other baked products, cheese) and also in the primary and secondary packaging of products used in medical field.
Barrier film can be obtained by cast as well as blown technology and is made of a multilayer co-extruded structure based on several raw materials (such as: PE, PP EVA, TL, EVOH, PA, PET, PS and others) and various additives (UV absorber, anti-fog, peelable, etc). Barrier film has generally a thickness ranging from 20 to 350 microns.
